Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda)
Considered as the strongest, Haiyan, codenamed Yolanda by Philippine meteorologists, has left thousands of victims dead and injured and has rendered tens of thousands homeless, in addition to causing extensive damage to property in islands along its path. As of now, people there are homeless, hungry and still striving to survive due to slow delivery of food and relief due to damages made to the communication, power and transportation infrastructures.
We at River of Life Family extends our sympathy to the millions affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda ). We not only give our prayers for all the victims but we also give concrete action to support relief efforts by various local Christian organizations. Many people has brought a lot used clothings in church to be given away. Even the poorest of the poor in our community are trying to help.
Some of our people (Ptr. August and company) will go to Tacloban City by November 20 to deliver food and spiritual relief to the victims.
We also call on our people to donate not only through our church but in any ways they can. Some of our people reported that they are also donating to various Media relief organizations; and the Philippine Red Cross and other international organization like World Vision and UNICEF who are able to mobilize the help immediately to the affected areas.
James also informed the people that they can donate thru SMS in their fone even at a very small amount of Php5 and Php10.
