Pinugay (Baras, Rizal) Outreach
This year, River of Life Majayjay formally announces the start of an outreach ministry in Pinugay – a small district on Baras, Rizal. It is a government housing project where most of Metro Manila informal settlers are relocated. Right now, the area is populated by approximately 300 families and another phase of the housing project is on-going with at least 500 more houses.
In this new community, the needs of the people are clearly seen: Basic utilities like water and electricity since it is not yet really established, the need for basic health care, food and since this place is remotely located (approximately 1 hr from Cainta/Taytay and 2 hours to Metro Manila), the livelihood of the people is the main concern as their jobs and skillsets are mainly based on their previous locations (mostly garbage recycling and construction job). But most of all, we see their need for spiritual care.
This ministry is being led by one of our pastor from ROL Majayjay, Ptr. Arcon and assisted by ROL Majayjay pastors Ptr. Augusto Dimajutoc and Cris Gado; and the entire ROL Family. They are doing a weekly Feeding Program for Children and Bible study sessions with the adults.
We ask you to help us in prayer for this new territory that God will pour out financial support on this outreach.
